Applicant Patroller

As a patroller with the Whitetail Ski Patrol, you will collaborate with each department to create a safe environment and help those that are injured. Work by skiing or snowboarding around the mountain keeping an eye out for those that need help. Get started in the outdoor sports industry and medical care without any prior experience needed.

All training is provided in the first year -- you just need to have strong fundamentals as displayed at our annual tryouts. Click here to apply and get more details about the actual try out days. 

All would-be patrollers need to pass a snow skills test held in late-February. Pre-registration is required to attend the tryout.

Tryout Info

Responsibilities

  • Complete Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) training.
  • Complete and pass Outdoor Emergency Transportation (OET) training.
  • Complete Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR
  • Complete and pass mountain operations training

Must Have

  • Strong skiing or snowboarding fundamentals
  • Passion for working outdoors
  • Positive attitude
  • Over 18 years old by December the following year.
  • Ability and interest in working as part of a team.

Ongoing Requirements

  • Work two shifts every two weeks
  • Annual CPR refresher
  • Annual OEC refresher
  • Annual Lift Evacuation Training
  • Annual NSP Dues
